A Week In Poland

DAY 1 - SATURDAY WARSAW (D)

A meeting with your tour escort at your hotel at 6.00 p.m. You will have a chance to listen to the Frederic Chopin piano concert performed by the best pianist. The royal atmosphere and classic music of Chopin changes the performance into the unique, unforgettable experience. The recital lasts about 1 hour (with the interval), glass of wine is served for the guests. This will be a splendid evening to celebrate 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth.

Dinner at the local restaurant and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2 - SUNDAY WARSAW - ZELAZOWA WOLA - LOWICZ - WARSAW (B / D)

Warsaw is located in the centre of the country and has been the national capital since 1596. After being completely destroyed by the Nazis during World War II, the city was meticulously rebuilt according to old documents and drawings. Now it is a bustling European centre of culture, commerce, industry and politics listed as an UNESCO Heritage Site. Our tour includes the most interesting sights of Warsaw: the Old Town with the Old Town Market Square, St. John's Cathedral, Barbican, Royal Castle with the Castle Square, the New Town with the Krasinski Palace, the Palace of Justice and the Monument of Warsaw Uprising.

Coffee break at the most famous coffee store "U Bliklego" for typical Polish doughnuts.

Late afternoon drive to Zelazowa Wola, the birthplace of Frederic Chopin, visit to the museum in a manor house and a park.

At the end of the day we invite you to the Lowicz ruin castle for a home-made dinner prepared by the young couple of artists. You will be welcomed in their delightful wooden cottage and have a chance to meet their family as well as indulge the typical Polish hospitality.

DAY 3 - MONDAY WARSAW - CZESTOCHOWA - OSWIECIM (AUSCHWITZ - BIRKENAU) - WADOWICE - KRAKOW (B / L)

A morning departure for Krakow. On the way stop in Czestochowa which is known for the famous Pauline monastery of Jasna Gora that is the home of the Black Madonna painting, a shrine of the Virgin Mary. She is the Queen of Poland that the whole nation and country was entrusted to. This spiritual capital of Poland every year attracts thousands of pilgrims from all over the world. During your trip you could visit: the Basilica with Black Madonna Shrine, the exhibition devoted to the 600-years of the Monastery, the Armoury Room and the Treasury Room.
Lunch at local restaurant.

Continue to Auschwitz-Birkenau to see the former Nazi concentration camp. All over the world, Auschwitz has become a symbol of terror, genocide and the Holocaust. It was established by the Nazis in 1940, in the suburbs of the city of Oswiecim (Auschwitz in German) which, like other parts of Poland, was occupied by the Germans during the Second World War. A visit to concentration and extermination camp museum might help you to comprehend what incomprehensible. Continue your drive to Krakow. Short stop in Wadowice, the birthplace of Pope John Paul II, with the basilica.

DAY 4 - TUESDAY KRAKOW (B)

Krakow is the cultural capital of Poland with Old Town listed as UNESCO Heritage. During the tour you would see Barbican and defensive walls with Florian's Gate, the Main Market Square with Sukiennice Cloth Hall, St Mary's Church and Town Hall Tower. We would proceed to the Jagiellonian University, pass by Archbishop Palace (where John Paul II used to live) as well as St Andrew's Church and SS Peter and Paul's Church to reach the Wawel Hill.

Short break for a cake and coffee at the famous Krakow coffee store "Jama Michalika" a place designed by local artists with beautiful glass-painted windows and interesting drawings.

Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5 - WEDNESDAY KRAKOW - ZAKOPANE (B / D)

A morning departure for Zakopane, a town where Polish national tourism was born, developed out of a number of shepherd settlements in some forest clearings in the 16th century. It is known as the winter capital of Poland and is beautiful in every season of the year. During a town tour you see many beautiful wooden churches and chapels with and the famous cemetery of "Na Peksowym Brzysku", a sentimental place with many "gravestones" in the birch grove made of wood.

Afternoon to your leisure. You will have a chance to stroll along Krupowki Street - one of the best-known Polish promenades attracting visitors from all over the world with dozens of shops and souvenir stalls, regional arts and crafts.

In the evening we invite you for a dinner which is arranged in the rustic settings of a typical mountain cottage. There will be music - cheerful songs accompanied by shrill violins, highlander merry-making. The joyful atmosphere has some of the best experiences Zakopane can offer.

DAY 6 - THURSDAY ZAKOPANE - WIELICZKA - WARSAW (B / L / D)

A morning departure for Warsaw. On a route stop in Wieliczka, the most beautiful and the oldest operating salt mine in the world (UNESCO Heritage). From over 700 years it was a source of Polish fortune and a physical fundament of culture. Today Wieliczka is the most willingly visited Polish tourist object with magnificent chapels, charming underground lakes and original tools and equipment. During this tour you could see a number of excavated chambers on 3 levels adorned with beautiful sculptures made of salt as well as a salt museum.

Lunch.

Drive to Warsaw. After arrival check-in at the hotel and overnight.

DAY 7 - FRIDAY WARSAW (B)
